Son Cubano

À propos de Son Cubano

The bedrock of Cuban popular music, son emerged in eastern Cuba in the late 19th century and crystallized in Havana in the 1920s. Built on the clave rhythm, with tres, bongos, marímbula, and call-and-response vocals, son fused Spanish guitar tradition with Afro-Cuban percussion and became the template for salsa, mambo, and almost every Latin dance music that followed.
