Salsa Venezolana

Über Salsa Venezolana

Venezuela built one of the fiercest salsa scenes outside the Caribbean, centered on Caracas from the 1960s onward. Federico y su Combo brought boogaloo and guaracha to the barrios, Dimensión Latina forged a hard, brass-heavy sound, and out of it stepped Óscar D'León, the singing bassist who became El Sonero del Mundo and one of the most electrifying live acts in all of Latin music.
