About Hayedeh
A singer trained in Persian classical music who moved into popular song, which gave her a range and weight most pop singers did not have. Soghati, from 1976, is among the most loved Persian songs ever recorded. She left Iran after the revolution and continued performing in Los Angeles until her death in 1990 at forty-seven. Her sister Mahasti was also a major singer.
