About Narodno-zabavna
Slovenia's national folk-pop genre, born from the Avsenik brothers' Oberkrain-style ensemble in the 1950s: accordion-led waltzes and polkas built on Alpine melodies and three- or five-part harmony. It became Slovenia's musical export across the Alps and the German-speaking world, and remains the soundtrack to weddings, harvests, and emigrant gatherings from Cleveland to Buenos Aires.
