Crioulo pop is the contemporary, border-crossing sound of the new Cape Verdean generation, mostly raised in the diaspora, who fold morna, funaná, and batuku into jazz, electronic, and global pop. Sung in Kriolu with an internationalist ear, it runs from Mayra Andrade's sophisticated songcraft to Dino d'Santiago's futuristic funaná.
