About Yodé & Siro

Petit Yodé and l'Enfant Siro have been the sharpest writers in zouglou since the mid 1990s. Their records work as running commentary on Ivorian public life, with enough specificity that individual verses have started arguments in the press. The 2020 album Héritage, and the single On dit quoi ? taken from it, showed the duo still setting the terms of the genre thirty years in. They remain the reference point for zouglou as social satire rather than party music.
