Roberto Roena was a bongosero, dancer, and bandleader whose Apollo Sound orchestra was one of the most exciting acts of the Fania era. A member of the Fania All-Stars, he brought a dancer's sense of rhythm to his percussion and led a band famous for its tight, joyful arrangements. Hits like Tú Loco Loco y Yo Tranquilo remain salsa dancefloor staples.
