About Lluís Llach

Lluís Llach is a Catalan singer-songwriter and a leading voice of the Nova Cançó. His 1968 song L'Estaca became an international anthem of resistance against oppression, banned under Franco yet sung across the world in dozens of languages. His work combines poetic lyricism with a strong political conscience tied to Catalan identity. He largely stepped back from music in the late 2000s to pursue politics and writing.
