About Emmerson

Emmerson is a Sierra Leonean singer and songwriter whose Krio-language pop doubles as political commentary. His 2004 debut album Borbor Bele, named after its title song, took aim at corruption among the powerful and made his name in postwar Freetown. He followed it with a run of albums through the 2010s, including 2 Fut Arata, Kokobeh and Survivor, and singles such as Telescope. In June 2024 he released Strawberry On Ice with the Nigerian star Davido.
