Lisbon quartet (Ana Bacalhau, Pedro da Silva Martins, Luís José Martins, José Pedro Leitão) who reinvented Portuguese song in the 2000s by fusing fado, folk and sharply political wit. 'Parva que Sou' (2011) became the accidental anthem of austerity-era protest, sung at crisis rallies and broadcast beyond the band's usual audience. Their work made the connection between fado lineage and civic commentary audible to a new generation.
