About Cheo Feliciano
Cheo Feliciano was a sonero of extraordinary warmth and phrasing, a Ponce native who rose through the Joe Cuba Sextet before a landmark solo career on Fania. His interpretations of Anacaona and boleros like Amada Mía balanced swinging guaguancó with tender romanticism. Beloved across Latin America, he received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and remained a revered elder statesman of salsa until his death in 2014.
