Rock Nacional
Über Rock Nacional
The largest and most sustained rock movement in Latin America, rock nacional emerged in 1967 when Los Gatos released La Balsa and never stopped. Spinetta brought poetic depth, Charly García pushed boundaries across a dozen projects, and Soda Stereo conquered the continent. Sung in Spanish from the start, it was always a statement of cultural independence.
