Über Ivorian Pop

A broad category for Ivorian vocal pop and its crossovers, including Meiway's zoblazo and Monique Séka's Afro-zouk as well as the contemporary radio pop of Josey and Roseline Layo. What links them is a pop arrangement built on Ivorian rhythm and, often, singing in Baoulé, Bété or N'Zima rather than French. It is a listening grouping rather than a claim to one local genre.
