Über Monique Séka
Monique Séka is credited with Afro-zouk, a meeting of Ivorian song with the Antillean zouk that dominated francophone African radio in the late 1980s. Missounwa, the 1989 album and its title track, made her the first Ivorian woman to sell across the continent on that scale. Okaman followed in 1995 and confirmed the formula. She opened a route that Josey and Roseline Layo now work in.
