Roseline Layo came out of the Abidjan cabaret circuit and broke through in 2021 with Donnez nous un peu. She sings mostly in Baoulé, which is unusual for an artist at her level of national exposure, and the songs carry a directness that reads as gospel-adjacent even when the subject is romantic. Amour Kôyô Kôyô and Môgô Fariman kept her on Ivorian radio through 2023. She is the most visible Ivorian woman working in local-language pop right now.
