King Mensah is the artist who carried Togolese popular song to a wider West African audience in the late 1990s. He builds records on agbadja and other southern Togolese rhythms, singing mostly in Ewé, and has worked between Lomé and Paris throughout. Madjo announced him and Odjo confirmed the formula. He is the most internationally booked Togolese singer of his generation.
