TBF, The Beat Fleet, turned Split dialect into hip-hop gold and became Croatia's most loved rap group. Formed in 1990, they broke nationally with the 2004 album Maxon Universal and its wry, humane storytelling about Dalmatian life. Their mix of funk, humor, and melancholy made hip-hop mainstream in Croatia without ever sounding imported.
