About Rico J. Puno
Rico J. Puno was a charismatic showman of the Manila Sound era, dubbed the Total Entertainer for his blend of soul singing and freewheeling comedy. His 1976 rendition of The Way We Were, threaded with cheeky Tagalog asides, helped launch the movement to embrace homegrown pop. A beloved concert and television draw for decades, he remained a fixture of Filipino entertainment until his death in 2018.
