About Rasmus Lyberth
Singer from Maniitsoq whose voice has represented Greenland abroad for five decades, and the country's most recognisable solo artist. He sang in Greenlandic on Danish national television in 1979, an unusual act at the time, and has kept the language central ever since. His records move between ballad, hymn and something closer to invocation, and he has also worked as an actor. Later albums such as Inuunerup asammatit continued to reach a Danish audience without translating him into a Danish artist.
