The Eraserheads are the most important band in modern Filipino music, so beloved they are often called the Beatles of the Philippines. Formed at the University of the Philippines in 1989, they ignited the 1990s alternative boom with witty, melodic, deeply Filipino songs about youth, love, and everyday life. Ang Huling El Bimbo became a generational anthem, and their reunion concerts draw enormous crowds. Their catalog is the songbook of a nation.
