About Calypso Limonense
The Anglophone calypso tradition of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, born in Limón province from Afro-Caribbean migration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sung in English and Limón Creole over acoustic guitar and box bass, with witty topical lyrics about everyday life in Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and the banana lands.
