The Australian guitar-rock continuum from late-60s blues-rock through 70s pub-rock to 80s arena conquest. AC/DC took blues-rock global from Sydney; Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, and INXS made Australian songwriting an international export through the 1980s. The pub-rock infrastructure of beer-barn venues across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane produced one of the loudest, most road-tested rock scenes outside the US and UK.
