About Equatoguinean Roots Pop
An editorial grouping for Equatoguinean popular song built on acoustic guitar bands and local repertoire rather than on imported production. It covers Le Grand Bessoso's Paris and Douala studio sessions of the early 1980s, the Nubenegra recordings of Malabo Strit Band, and the Annobonese songs Desmali cut with his group Dambo de la Costa. It is a listening category, not one indigenous genre.
