Zangbeto take their name from the masked night guardians of Ewé and Gun vodun practice, and build a fusion around that reference rather than reproducing ritual music. The group works between trance-leaning grooves, jazz phrasing and electronics. Transe is the recording that introduced them outside Togo. They are among the newest Togolese groups to reach an international stage.
