Suzanna Lubrano is one of the biggest stars of cola-zouk, the glossy Cape Verdean dance-pop of the diaspora. Born on Santiago and raised in the Netherlands, she turned Rotterdam into a hub for the genre and sold records across the Lusophone world through the 2000s. Her upbeat, romantic hits made her a fixture of Cape Verdean weddings and dance floors far beyond the islands.
