Silvio Rodriguez is the most influential of the nueva trova songwriters and one of the canonical voices of Latin American song. Songs like Ojala and Unicornio circulated across the Spanish-speaking world as personal hymns even when they could not be played on commercial radio. He remains active, releasing the album Para la Espera in 2020 and continuing his free neighborhood concerts in Havana.
