About Shin Jung-hyeon

Shin Jung-hyeon is the pioneering figure known as the Godfather of Korean Rock. He formed Add4, considered one of Korea's first rock bands, in 1962, and developed a distinctly Korean psychedelic rock and soul sound. His best known works include Beautiful Rivers and Mountains from 1972 and Miin from 1974. He was persecuted under the Park Chung-hee government in the mid-1970s, and in 2017 received an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music.
