About Sarah McLachlan

Sarah McLachlan was the Halifax-raised singer-songwriter who anchored the 1990s adult alternative wave with Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and Surfacing. She founded Lilith Fair in 1997, the all-female touring festival that ran for three years and reshaped the music industry's relationship with women artists. Angel became a 2000s standard through its use in animal welfare campaigns.
