Sabanoh 75 was a Sierra Leonean dance band, reportedly formed by members of Freetown's Afro National scene, that released a string of UK-pressed singles between 1975 and 1979 with London-based Sierra Leonean producer Akie Deen. Songs such as Susana, Konko and Carry On blended Afro-funk, highlife and reggae and became big hits back home. Lead singer Zozo Shuaibu, born in Sierra Leone to Nigerian parents, went on to record for EMI Nigeria and later ran Kuzari Studios in London. The recordings featured here are not the original 1970s singles: they come from the albums Warn You Pikin (1997) and Enjoyment (2000), on which Shuaibu and guitarist Ayo Roy Macauley re-recorded the band's classics under the name Sabanoh International.
