About Quimby
Quimby are the literate Budapest alt-rock band, formed in 1991 around singer Tibor Kiss. Their Hungarian-language songbook leans on Tom Waits's bar-room poetics and Eastern European cabaret, and their 2005 single "Most múlik pontosan" became one of the most-covered tracks in Magyar pop history (Csík Zenekar's folk version turned it into a national singalong). The band's run of albums from Kicsi ország to Lármában still defines what literate Hungarian guitar-pop sounds like in the 21st century.
