Peso Pluma, born Hassan Kabande in Zapopan, became the breakout face of corridos tumbados in 2023 with Ella Baila Sola, a collaboration with Eslabon Armado that reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest-ever charting regional Mexican song. His features with Bizarrap, Quevedo, and Bad Bunny made him the most-streamed Latin artist on Spotify that year. His 2023 album Génesis won Best Música Mexicana Album at the 2024 Latin Grammys. He continues to define the contemporary face of regional Mexican music.
