Shijiazhuang folk-rock band formed in 1996 around vocalist Dong Yaqian, guitarist Ji Yifan, bassist Shi Li, and drummer Yang Xianzheng. Their 2010 self-titled debut is the single most-cited Chinese rock album of the 21st century, anchored by 杀死那个石家庄人, a song about the slow decline of a northern industrial city. They went a full decade between records before releasing the elaborately arranged 冀西南林路行 in 2020 to widespread critical acclaim, and they remain one of the few mainland rock acts whose every move is treated as cultural news.
