About Omega

Omega are the most internationally exported Hungarian rock band, formed in Budapest in 1962 and led by singer János Kóbor and keyboard player László Benkő for most of their fifty-year run. Their 1969 single "Gyöngyhajú lány" became a continental hit and was covered by the Scorpions as "White Dove" decades later. The band's prog and space-rock years on Hungaroton and Bacillus in the 1970s built a German fan base that filled arenas across the Bloc and beyond. The 2020 studio album Testamentum closed the circle; Kóbor's death in 2021 brought the original line-up's run to an end.
