The group that put the Greenlandic language into hip-hop, active from the mid 1980s and the starting point for every rapper who followed. Qitik appeared as a single in 1992 and their album NP followed in 1995. Rock from the Cold Seas, released through the Faroese label Tutl in 1999, carried their work to a wider Nordic audience. They rapped in Greenlandic and Danish about Nuuk rather than importing American subject matter wholesale.
