About Morning Musume

Morning Musume is a Japanese idol group formed in 1997 by producer Tsunku from runners-up of a vocalist audition on the TV show Asayan. Its 1999 single 'Love Machine' was the group's first Oricon number one and sold over 1.6 million copies. The group is still active, with new generations of members replacing those who graduate.
