mor ve ötesi formed in Istanbul in 1995 and became the most respected band of Turkish alternative rock. Their 2004 album Dünya Yalan Söylüyor, with Cambaz and Bir Derdim Var, was a commercial and critical breakthrough, and they represented Turkey at Eurovision 2008 with Deli, finishing seventh. Their politically aware lyrics gave the scene its conscience.
