About Meiway

Meiway named his own genre. Zoblazo, launched with the 1992 album 200% Zoblazo, drew on the rhythms of his N'Zima home town of Grand-Bassam and dressed them in horns, synths and a large stage show. He has released studio albums steadily since, from Appolo 95 through Golgotha to Légende, and remains one of the few Ivorian artists whose live production matches Congolese or Nigerian scale. His songs move between celebration and blunt social comment.
