About Marlon Williams

Marlon Williams, of Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Mahuta descent, sings country, alt-folk, and Māori-language pop with the same precise, lonesome baritone. His 2018 album Make Way for Love marked his international breakthrough, and the 2024 album Te Whare Tīwekaweka, written entirely in te reo Māori, was a landmark release for indigenous-language pop in the English-speaking world. He has also acted in The Beautiful Lie and A Star Is Born.
