About Manos Hadjidakis

A co-founder of the entechno movement alongside Theodorakis, Hadjidakis won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1960 for 'Ta Pedia tou Pirea' from Never on Sunday. He introduced the bouzouki to international cinema and composed orchestral works that elevated Greek popular music to art song. He also served as director of the Greek National Opera.
