Lady Ponce is the biggest bikutsi singer of her generation and has held that position for close to two decades. She writes bluntly about sex, money and marriage in a way that keeps her records in the news as often as on the radio. Her run from the mid 2000s onward turned bikutsi from a band music into a star vocalist's music. She is still releasing singles and features with younger pop artists.
