About Lačni Franz
Lačni Franz were the Maribor band that gave Slovenian rock its sharpest tongue. Fronted by lyricist-singer Zoran Predin, who founded the group in 1979, they wrote songs that scanned like short stories: "Praslovan" took apart Slovene nationalism, "Bog nima telefona" mocked clerical bargaining. Where Buldožer sang in Serbo-Croatian, Lačni Franz stayed in Slovene, proving the language could carry sardonic art-rock as well as any other.
