About Ishikawa Sayuri

Ishikawa Sayuri debuted at fifteen in 1973 and has spent half a century as one of the central voices of enka. Tsugaru Kaikyō Fuyugeshiki (1977) and Amagigoe (1986) are both considered enka standards, and she has appeared on NHK's New Year's Eve Kōhaku Uta Gassen more than forty consecutive times, an unmatched record in Japanese popular music.
