Himra brought drill to Abidjan and rapped it in hardcore nouchi rather than French. His records describe the grind and the anger of the city's poorer districts without softening either for a wider audience. BANGER, released at the end of 2024, is the track that took that voice national. He is the clearest sign that rap ivoire has stopped looking to Paris for its rhythms.
