Grupo 5

About Grupo 5

Grupo 5 is a cumbia orchestra founded on 31 January 1973 in Monsefú, Chiclayo province, by the brothers Elmer and Víctor Yaipén Uypán. After Elmer's death in 1999 his sons took over, and songs by composer Estanis Mogollón such as "Morir de amor" and "Motor y motivo" brought a major resurgence in the 2000s.
