About Dariush
One of the defining voices of Persian popular music, and the one most associated with political and social writing. Be Man Nagoo Dooset Daram made him a star in 1970, and Cheshme Man followed in 1973. He was imprisoned under the Shah for the content of his songs, left Iran after the revolution, and built a second career in Los Angeles across more than twenty albums. He has also worked publicly on addiction recovery, which his later records address directly.
