Café Tacvba

About Café Tacvba

Café Tacvba formed in Mexico City in 1989 and built the most stylistically restless catalogue in rock en español. Their 1994 album Re moved between norteño, bolero, ska, electronic, and punk inside a single sequence, and remains the genre's most-cited landmark. Subsequent records Avalancha de Éxitos, Revés/Yo Soy, and Cuatro Caminos kept reinventing the band's idiom. They have never replaced a member; vocalist Rubén Albarrán has cycled through more than a dozen on-stage aliases. Their 2023 single Volver a Comenzar returned them to Latin Alternative airplay.
