About Black Cats

Band formed in Tehran in the 1960s by Shahbal Shabpareh, which played live shows, television and records before the revolution with singers including Shahram Shabpareh, Ebi and Farhad Mehrad. Re-formed in Los Angeles after 1979, it plays upbeat Persian pop built mostly on the 6/8 shesh-o-hasht rhythm, often switching to a 4/4 rock beat.
