Bolero

Über Bolero

Cuba's great romantic song form, the bolero began in Santiago de Cuba in the late 1800s and spread across Latin America as the language of heartbreak. Slow, dignified, harmonically rich, and built for confessional singing, the bolero gave Cuba some of its most enduring voices and shaped popular ballad traditions from Mexico to Argentina.
