Zainab Sheriff is a Freetown-born model and singer who first became known in 2012 as one of Sierra Leone's two housemates on Big Brother Africa StarGame. In 2015 she signed a recording deal with Emmerson Bockarie's Sugar Entertainment. Mamie Na Power, released that December, became her signature song, and its official video has passed two million views on YouTube. She has also acted in the films Ghetto Queen and Elephant in the Room. She later entered opposition politics with the All People's Congress, and in April 2026 a Freetown magistrate convicted her of incitement over a public speech, a verdict critics described as politically motivated.
