Yanka Dyagileva was a singer and songwriter from Novosibirsk and the leading female voice of Siberian punk. She worked closely with Yegor Letov, and her songs set stark, folk-tinged melodies against raw guitar noise. Her first recordings, made in Tyumen in 1988, were followed in 1989 by the albums Angedoniya and Domoy!, recorded with members of Grazhdanskaya Oborona. The albums circulated on tape and reached official release only after her death. She died in May 1991, aged 24.
